Sketch a Day 44

Hello - how are you? Today I'm excited as I have found my direction for the next series of work, so that's a big yay moment.

It came to me tonight as I was creating this image - yes, ok trees again, but I am aiming for a more existential experience (is that still a thing?) when viewing the image - early days I know and I'm not big on having to explain my work - just hoping you will see what I'm trying to convey with the image - please let me know your thoughts/questions - only too happy to discuss - just don't want to write tomes about it...

The first thing I need to share is that I started painting with ink on cartridge paper (very thin - can't take water) and yet I diluted the ink with water which made for a very laboured image - see image 2 below. I then moved to some beautiful watercolour paper and the power of the ink gliding over the paper was mesmerising - the image has a greater sense of immediacy and a more intense tension within the composition.

All the while I was listening to a podcast from FBI radio 94.5 playing this wonderful tune

Thanks for dropping by
